The Monocl platform supports searches using both indexed keywords and free text keywords. The indexed keywords are based on the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s curated medical vocabulary MeSH (learn more here).
We generally recommend you to use the indexed keywords as they include synonyms and related keywords, which normally increase the quality of your search and helps to reduce noise. If you are unable to identify a suitable indexed keyword, a search with free text is also an option to improve your results. You can learn more about how to construct search strings here.
