Get an Overview of the Expert
In the Overview tab, within a profile, you get a summary of all the main information about an expert. In the top left corner (indicated in red below) you get statistics and contact information for the expert. In the section in the middle (indicated in blue) you can get a quick understanding of what this expert is focused on, hover over the different sections in the Research Activity Overview-graph to see which are the main areas of expertise for one expert. In the lower part (indicated in green) you see the most recent mentions of this expert in the News (press releases, news articles, etc.)On the right side (indicated in yellow) you see the expert's activity within "your search", visualized in the bar-graph Publications per Year. The red part is connected to your active search whereas the light grey part of the bar represent research output in other areas.
Find out More About an Expert's Competence
In the Research focus section (The blue box), you can learn more about what an expert has done in relation to different areas of research. Bring up keywords in the different categories (Diseases, proteins, techniques, etc.) and simply click on each category to shift between them. You can also see the expert's latest relevant publications and clinical trials for a keyword as well as who he/she is frequently collaborating with in the collaborators section on the right side.
Investigate an Expert's Network
Understanding an expert's network is often a big part of understanding his/her influencing capacity. In the Collaborators tab you can choose to see all of the expert's collaborators listed in the list-view and use the filters to only look at collaborators in, for example, a certain geographical region and even see which collaborators are working in the same field as the expert in focus. You can also choose the relations-view where you can see also how his/her collaborators relate to each other as well as the geographical locations and spread of all collaborators.
In the publications tab on the expert profile you can find all the publications of an expert. You are able to sort publications based on relevance for your active search, journal ranking and most recent (indicated by red square below). On the left hand side, you can use filters to refine the publications list including publication date, publication type and journal ranking (green underlining below). On the right hand side, you can change the view (indicated by red line below), to view the publication trend and top journals in which the expert most frequently has published in.
For each individual publication in the list you will find information regarding publication date, journal, title, name of the co-author(s), publication type as well as the search terms you have used that are mentioned in the specific article. By clicking the "more info" button, you are able to view the abstract of the publication, link to the source and more.
In the clinical trials tab on the expert profile you can find all the clinical trials of an expert. You are able to sort the listed trials based on relevance for your active search as well as most recent (indicated by the red square below). On the left hand side, you can use filters to refine the clinical trials list including trial start date, type, phase, recruitment status, results as well as funding organization (indicated in green below).
On the right hand side, you can change to chart-view (indicated by red line below), to view the clinical trial phase distribution as well as clinical trial roles of the expert, such as PI, chair and sponsor.
For each individual trial in the list you will find information regarding start date, phase, type of trial, title, names of the co-investigators, sponsors, trial status as well as the search terms you have used that are mentioned in the specific trial. By clicking the "more info" button, you find more information about the trial including official title, purpose, condition(s), study arms and sites. You will also find important dates, info about the study design, link to the source and if available, study results.
The meetings that are part of the experience of each expert will have an exclusive tab in their profiles. In this tab, one can sort the list of meeting presentations entries by relevance (regarding your current search) or most recent. To get more information about each meeting entry, the "more info" button at right will expand the selected presentation and bring additional data as an abstract preview, start and end dates, location and external links as source of the information.
There are two different views of the tab of results: List and Charts. While the List-view will present the entries respective to the specific profile, the Chart-view will summarize the information in the List-view based on Meeting roles that the expert has performed and top meetings attended (based on amount of presentations only).
Each grant is matched to the corresponding expert in Monocl. In the expert profile under the tab grants, you will find a list with all the grants matched to the specific expert. Each grant is seamlessly enriched and cross-linked to related clinical trials and publications.
You are able to sort grants based on amount, relevance for your active search as well as most recent (indicated by red square below).
On the left hand side, you can use filters to refine the grant list including grant start date, grant amount and grant status (green underlining below). On the right hand side, you can change to chart mode (indicated by red line below), to view grants by payer and the grant funding trend for the expert.
For each individual grant in the list you will find information regarding project start date, grant status, title, grant amount, grant recipient and grant payer. By clicking the "more info" button, you are able to view the abstract with description and overall objective, link to the source, project type and all the related activities in terms of publications and clinical trials.
Get valuable insights for competitive intelligence purposes and understand financial collaboration networks and typical compensation levels for speaker engagements, clinical research for specific drug programs, pre-clinical research and much more, by reviewing the industry payments of individual experts. Payments are based on the CMS Open Payments database and will assist you in evaluating financial transactions between companies and physicians.
In the chart mode you can review which companies the expert has received payments from by looking at top payments by company and you will also see the industry payments trend.
By switching to list-view (indicated by red line below) you will be able to sort the payments according to amount and most recent.
For each individual payment in the list you will find information regarding date, form and nature of payment, research area, amount, payment recipient, organizational recipient and payer.
By clicking the "more info" button, you will be able to view industry payment details including product, study or details related to in-kind items and services.
News articles, corporate press releases, blog posts, conferences, scientific forums and much more are readily accessible on expert profiles under the news tab. Here you will find relevant news about an expert such as if he/she recently joined an advisory board, presented groundbreaking results from clinical trials, was recognized for important contributions at an important conference as well as expressed opinion in connection to specific products, technologies and/or therapies.
